Nokia has finally added the N93 multimedia phone to the list of supported devices that are able to be updated through Nokia Software Updater (NSU).
Previously users had to take a trip to one of Nokia’s Service Centers. With the NSU users can update their firmware at home using a compatible Nokia USB connection cable with the promise of additional functionality, improved performance and stability. The list of supported phones now includes Nokia E50, E60, E61, E70, N70, N71, N72, N80 (only model also supporting Firmware-Over-The-Air), N91, 770 Internet Tablet, 6131, 6630, 6680, 6681, 6682 and of course the newly added N93.The N73 unfortunately has not been added to the list yet, but expect it soon.
Users are advised to check for updates approximately once a month to keep the phone software up-to-date, or fix potential operation problems. With the phone connected via USB cable, NSU checks for any updates and if necessary update itself and also checks the availability of a new firmware for your phone. Be aware that the latest firmware version 11.0.034 for the N93 is a huge 74mb download. The NSU can be downloaded here
We have also received the N93 and readers can expect a full review shortly.
