Step into History with Plantronics and Quiksilver

Plantronics reputation rocketed to fame (literally) with the astronauts of the Apollo missions to the Moon reporting back to NASA on their headsets. How many millions of humans were riveted to their seats listening to Apollo 8 wish us a Merry Christmas as the Earth rose above the moon’s horizon or Armstrong make his giant leap for Mankind.

For those silly people who can never quite seem to appreciate how going into space helps people on Earth, Plantronics technology has been used for air traffic control, emergency dispatch, and the New York Stock Exchange. And then there’s Bluetooth(R) – and who doesn’t enjoy the convenience of a good headset?

At the SIA conference in Las Vegas (booths #C700 and #C800), Nevada Plantronics and Quiksilver/Roxy announced their partnership. They will be Pairing (get it?) sports apparel with Bluetooth(R) By adding Bluetooth(R) to the clothing and sports accessories the user can use his/her iPod and cell phone conveniently without bulky wires getting in the way of strenuous activity.
