LG G Watch Smartwatch

20150102_142810[1] The smartwatch is part of the latest trend in technology today; wearable communication. The G Watch Smart Watch from LG works in conjunction with an Android smartphone via a Bluetooth connection. It puts your valuable information close at hand without having to pull out your phone every time. The G Watch features a bright, always on 1.65 inch IPS LCD screen for easy viewing. With its multiple functions it can be used in a variety of ways. It features voice activation (the famous ‘Ok Google’) and therefore you never have to touch the screen in order to pull up the information that you need.

Look and Feel

The G Watch is so compact that it feels just like any other standard watch. It works with any standard 22mm watch strap, so the sky’s the limit when it comes to how stylish you want it to be. It comes in two different base colors; Titan Black and White Gold. While the black version is heavily favored, our review model was the White Gold which also has a black face. Paired with a new black mesh strap it actually is far more stylish looking than the all-black version.

It is an extremely comfortable watch that can be worn all day and since it also meets IP67 standards for both water and dust resistance. This means you don’t have to worry about if it is splashed with water during outdoor activities or you forget to take it off during a shower.

Compatibility

The LG G Watch Smartwatch works with a nearly all smartphones that run on the Android 4.3 or later. Using the Bluetooth 4.0 wireless that is built in to the watch you will not have to pull out your phone to access information on your wrist.

The 400MAH rechargeable battery delivers all the power needed to keep it running for as almost two days on a single charge (we used the new Theater mode to turn off the display at night). To keep it charged LG includes a wireless charging cradle and USB cable in the package. The cradle is magnetic and firmly moves the watch into the correct charging position and holds it there.

Conclusion

The LG G Watch Smart Watch is part of the newest technology trend called wearable communications. Smartwatch’s make it much more convenient to get the information you need without having to keep pulling out your phone and feature health sensors (the G Watch, it should be noted, omits the heart rate sensor common in other watches). It will run an amazing 2 days on a single charge thanks to the long life battery and Google’s Android Wear OS version 5.

The sleek, compact design of the G Watch makes it very comfortable to wear even for extended periods of time. Not only is it comfortable, but it sleek, stylish design and easy interchangeable wrist strap, gives you a plethora of choices and styles. All of the features and its stylish look makes it’s a amazing value at one half to nearly one third the cost of similar watches on the market.

You can find the G Watch widely available for under $100.
