Sprint Galaxy Tab 3 SM-T217S — Basically Good

The Galaxy Tab 3 SM-T217S is a nice smaller tablet. It’s more basic than other tablets. But it has some nice features. OS 4.2.2, and comes with either 8GB or 16GB internal storage. I’m a fan of expandability so I like the SD CARD SLOT – add either a microSD, microSDHC, or microSDXC up to 64 GB. The NETWORK is CDMA or LTE/CDMA for 3G/4G signal.

There’s a screen res of 1024 x 600 pixels.

Now what I was looking forward to tesing out was the Watch On app. As usual it was quite easy to set up.  It’s easy to navigate among Favorites, categories and channels. The only “annoying” aspect is that if I set up a “Reminder” for future viewing it connects to my calendar so that’s how I get the notifications. What I would LOVE is if it changed the channel automatically.

Camera

3 megapixels – not the greatest but it still makes very nice photos. There’s no flash and no autofocus, but it works.

The Front-facing camera is 1.3 megapixels.

For this photo I used the negative effect – it’s one of three available effects: Sepia, and Black and White being the others. There are a whole array of scene modes (basically color curves). I DO like having Voice control for taking hands off photos…I’ve have found that very useful.

The Galaxy Tab 3 is a really nice tablet. If you need a good basic model that has some very nice features this is one.
