The base models of Samsung’s latest phone all come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The Galaxy S8 base price is $750, while the S8+ base price is $850. In addition to full payment, there are lease plans and payment plans available. Pre-order customers should see their phones delivered no later than the release date of April 21st.
AT&T is offering the S8 and S8+ in three colors, Arctic Silver, Midnight Black, and Orchid Gray. We saw all three colors at the New York City reveal and were especially drawn to the orchid gray. The gray has a hint of purple, making for an especially complex and luxury finish.
Buy One, Get One Free
AT&T is unique for US carriers in offering a BOGO (buy one get one) deal. Customers who purchase an S8 or S8+ can receive another free. The qualifications are that at least one of the phone lines must be new, and customers must also be Direct TV subscribers. For those who qualify, this should be a compelling offer.
There are a variety of payment plans starting at $25 per month over 30 months. There are also 24 month plans. Down payments and terms can be dependent on credit.
Completely free of charge, pre-orders will receive the new S8 / S8+ version of Samsung’s Gear VR headset and the new Gear Motion Controller. We’ve tried this new Gear VR and motion controller. The Gear VR headset is similar to prior offerings from Samsung, but the motion controller is a great new addition. The motion controller is a wireless Bluetooth unit that allows far easier navigation within virtual worlds.
This package would have a retail price of $179 if purchased separately. If you’re into VR, or simply want to try VR, this is a great offering. There’s no reason not to take advantage as it is completely free with purchase.
Buyers can get a Gear S3 smartwatch for $49 with a 2-year service agreement. Additionally, Samsung Tab E and/or a Samsung Gear S2 can be had for 99 cents with contract.
Separately, Samsung is offering all US S8 and S8+ buyers a heavily discounted package that includes Bluetooth wireless Y50BT AKG over-the-ear headphones and a 256GB micro-SD card. This package is being sold for an additional $99.
The 256GB micro-SD card alone has a street price of over $150. The AKG bluetooth headphones typically sell for around $120. Both products receive extremely good reviews. For those interested in either of these products, Samsung is providing a robust value for money.
